The Skelwith Group
Founded in 2004, The Skelwith Group has a history of developing landmark residential and mixed-use projects throughout the North of England.
The York-based company currently has over £115 million of development under construction, including over 1,000 residential units. The company is unique in the fact that it builds, sells and lets developments on behalf of investors.
Paul Ellis founded the company and is the Group’s Managing director. He originally had a personal interest in property development and following this success he formed The Skelwith Group.

Woolston Warehouse – Bradford »
This £25 million scheme will transform a derelict warehouse on the edge of the city centre into a vibrant new community.
The £25 million development will see the retention of the existing Woolston warehouse building, on Tetley Street, and complemented by new development next to it. The masterplan includes around 250 new homes, boutiques and leisure facilities. Set around a central courtyard with a fountain, the development will also feature a designer urban garden.
Work has started on the first Phase of Woolston Warehouse with the project due for completion in 2009. The development has also caught the imagination of investors with over 70% of the first phase already sold off-plan.
York, three flagship city centre schemes
The Skelwith Group is also in the process of building and selling 3 flagship developments in York city centre.
Aspire »
The Aspire project is a stunning mixed use development in a strategic site in the city centre. It will include a leading supermarket on the ground floor, 6,000 sq ft of much needed city centre office space and 12 luxury apartments. Work will start in July 2008 with a 12 month build programme.
Clarence Gardens »
All 19 flats in an ambitious development in Clarence Gardens were sold by the group to investors within four days, despite it not being completed until November.

Another development, of 23 flats in The Rise, has also been successfully sold off plan - before they were built - highlighting the strong interest in investing in good quality York property.
